Is it true that Turkey attracts Indian tourists?
Yes, Turkey is a popular vacation spot for a variety of reasons, and it
does annually attract many Indian tourists. Turkey has noticed an important
rise in the number of Indian tourists in recent years. The Turkish
government has also taken action to boost Indian tourism by enhancing
infrastructure, relaxing visa requirements, and improving services for Indian
visitors. In addition, Turkey has made travel simpler and more affordable by
increasing the number of direct flights between India and Turkey.
According to the sources, Turkey welcomed 2.32 million Indian tourists in
2022, among the 51.4 million international visitors, compared to 2.3 lakh in
2019, when 2.3 lakh had travelled to Turkey. In last June, 27,000 Indian
tourists visited Turkey, setting a new high for the country.
According to Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Turkey’s minister of culture and tourism,
these results certify that the country had a great comeback after the pandemic.
"We are confident to bring 90 million tourists and achieve $100 billion in
tourism revenues by the end of 2028," Ersoy
was quoted as saying by The Mint.
I want to note down some of the reasons why Turkey attracts a sizable
number of Indian Tourists. First, Turkey has a rich cultural history that can
be seen in its architecture, music, cuisine, and artwork. The second is
beautiful landscapes that can be reflected in beaches along with the
Mediterranean and Aegean coasts. it includes many natural wonders to explore,
including caves, and waterfalls. The third is modern infrastructure like modern
airports, highways, and hotels. Fourth, it is affordable compared to many other
European countries, and fifth, it offers warm hospitality because Turkish
people are known for their kindness and respect, as well as their warm
hospitality and welcoming nature.
There are several tourist attractions in Turkey, but the most popular among
Indians are Istanbul and Cappadocia, known for its fairy chimneys, hot air
balloon rides, and cave dwellings. Pamukkale features terraced pools and a
hillside. Antalya is packed with beautiful beaches and historic sites, and the
last one is Ephesus, which includes the seven wonders of the ancient world and
is called the Temple of Artemis.
Turkish series have played a significant role in attracting Indians and
creating a bridge between the two countries through entertainment. I want to
highlight some of the reasons here. Turkish series offer a certain blend of
drama and romance that Indian audiences enjoy a lot. The second category
includes Turkish series that have been dubbed and subtitled in Indian language,
making them more accessible to a wider audience. The last one is social media
and online platforms, which helped promote the Turkish series and generate
interest among Indians.
Overall, we can draw a line, having said that Turkey is a spellbinding
combination of history, natural beauty, and technological advances that make it
a popular tourist destination for Indian tourists. Turkey is a great
destination. It showcases the country’s rich cultural heritage and features
such as kebabs, baklava, and Turkish delight.
